Because no one has eyes in the back of their head.

Braze Mobility has created the world’s first patent-pending blind spot sensors that can be added to any wheelchair, transforming it into a “smart” wheelchair. The system provides multi-modal alerts to the user regarding the location and proximity of obstacles through intuitive lights, sounds, and vibrations.

    Braze Sentina

The Braze Sentina attaches to any wheelchair and provides 180º rear-view blind-spot coverage! The Sentina is easy to mount and is fully customisable.

    Features

    • The Braze Sentina offers 180 ° of robust horizontal coverage and 50° of vertical coverage
    • An intuitive LED (light) display and control panel that indicate the location and proximity of obstacles
    • Integrated audio feedback, easily switched on and off at the push of a button
    • Capability to add up to three vibration modules (sold separately) to provide haptic feedback
    • Short and long-range modes, with the ability to customise distance thresholds
    • Go-Pro style mounts that can be mounted on any wheelchair or scooter
    • The system is powered by a standard USB power source, e.g., a USB hub on a powered wheelchair or a power bank (sold separately)
    • Ability to add up to three Braze Echo Heads (sold separately) to increase blind spot coverage
This system is recommended for clients who want greater awareness of obstacles behind their wheelchairs. The system can be configured to provide increased coverage at the front of the wheelchair in certain cases.

    Braze Hydra

The Braze Hydra includes 1 Echo Head (offering a 45-degree cone of coverage) and an intuitive LED light display that indicates location and proximity of obstacles. The system supports up to 2 additional Echo Heads (purchased separately).

    Features

    • An intuitive LED light display and control panel that indicate the location and proximity of obstacles
    • Short and long-range modes that can be customised
    • Echo Heads can be mounted on most bars or posts of the wheelchair
    • The system is powered by a standard USB power source, e.g., a USB hub on a powered wheelchair, a low-tech power bank, etc.

This system is recommended for clients who want a greater awareness of obstacles in targeted areas and more flexibility in mounting options. For example, Braze Echo Heads could be mounted on the left and right sides of the wheelchair for clients with low peripheral vision or visual neglect.

    Echo Head

Each Echo Head can be plugged into Braze Sentina or Braze Hydra. The Braze Sentina and Hydra can support up to 3 Echo Heads. The Echo Heads can be mounted on most wheelchair bars or posts and are easy to replace and reconfigure.

    Braze Vibration Module

Up to 3 vibration modules can be used with Braze Sentina or Braze Hydra. These modules provide intuitive vibrations to indicate proximity to obstacles. They can be placed on the backrest, armrests, or seat cushions. The intensity of vibrations can be controlled by the knob on the controller module.

Vibration modules are suggested for clients who want tactile feedback to replace or supplement the visual feedback offered by the controller module. However, these modules are NOT recommended for clients with spasticity and/or high sensitivity to vibrations.
